Swans are a symbol of grace, beauty, devotion, love, purity, peace, partnership, creativity and transformation.

In 1875, Walter Crane created one of his masterpieces: a wallpaper design called Swan, Rush and Iris. A pinnacle of the Art Nouveau movement that has lost none of its charm and beauty. A timeless piece of art.
With this source of inspiration I turned the design into a Stranded Knitting pattern. The swans are very close to the original. The center piece is a completely new draft that serves as a transition between the two swans and to add the length to the scarf needed.

The scarf is worked bottom up in rows. If you like to experiment, you can also knit in the round with a 'steek' and later on hide it under the lining.

A ready-made knitting kit that allows you to relax and get started right away. The package contains:

• A storage box in which you can store the yarn and later on the scarf.
• All the yarns you will need for this project. Most of the yarn is a mix of Shetland and merino wool, which is ideal for stranded knitting. The loose skein contains fibers of cotton and virgin merino and has a fluffy effect.
• Two copies of the pattern containing 13 pages. One on high-quality paper and one on normal paper that you can work from immediately. Pattern language: English 
• 1 Addi Bamboo circular knitting needle 2.5 mm with a cable length of 100 cm. These are of soft smooth wood and my personal favorites. And also very suitable for this yarn.
